I am also now down to my second wedge in my boot, and I can weight bear about 55 kg out of 93 kg ( total weight).

    do you feel like you are 100% again compared to before you ruptured your achilles tendon....or do you feel that you are not the same as of now even though you are fully healed

    REPENT and be BORN AGAIN believing on Messiah Lord Jesus, nothing more important, today is the day of salvation and Jesus can show you the truth, its not blind faith you can see it for yourself if you truly seek like promised. John 3:3 unless a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God / Luke 13:3 unless you repent, you will all likewise perish ⚠️❤️⚠️

    That pain started yesterday morning when I wake up it’s insanely intense ! I started getting nervous today but figured it was just the blood circulating !! Thanks for the video , how are you doing now ?

      Hey Thomas. How long has it been since your rupture ? I am 13 months after my rupture now and things are going well. I havent began sprinting yet but I can jog and do all things in the gym like squat and deadlifts . Only thing holding me back is being able to sprint. But it will come once I break through the mental barrier. Things are 110% better compared to when I was in bed those first few weeks. How did you hurt your achilles ?

    • @tomasmccarthy3060
      @tomasmccarthy3060 5 років тому

      Jason Gronthos hey Jason , I ruptured it two weeks ago . I get the splint off next week and go into the boot with the lifts . 13 months seems so long , my recovery plan says I will be back to full activities in 6 months . When did you start putting pressure on your foot Again

    How has your recovery gone so far ?

    • @JasonGBASKETBALL22
      @JasonGBASKETBALL22 5 років тому

      Hey mate . I am at about 8 months and recovery has been going great ! I am walking with no limp whatsoever. Physio excercises have progressives gotten harder and I have began doing short jumps . Life is pretty good right now and my physio wants me jogging in about 4 weeks so around the 9 month mark. The next set of exercises will involve more pre running like hopping, jumping and skipping. Have you recently hurt your Achilles?

      Jason Gronthos I tore my achiles about 3 months ago. Just started walking in the boot with a limp and a cane. Have physio once a week. Hoping to walk without the boot soon but really worried if it will snap again

    Looking good bro. Must be good keeping upper body fit. What js that band u r using called? I'm trying to transition to 1 crutch too now. Do you know how much your gap was?

    • @JasonGBASKETBALL22
      @JasonGBASKETBALL22 6 років тому

      Yeah it definitely feels good to get some excercise in ! I just typed 'resistance bands with handles' on Ebay and got it there ! worth it . Yeah it's more of a mind thing transitioning to one crutch! I feel I can walk and put more weight on it, It's just I am so cautious as I don't want to hurt it again. Not quite sure of the gap, did you get told the size of your gap?

    • @topstuff9145
      @topstuff9145 6 років тому

      Jason Gronthos yes saw the doc this week who said it was a 1cm tear there in the scan but he couldn't feel a gap when he felt my heel so he said scar tissue prob grown. Gave me both options surgery and non surgery. I said I'll carry on with this for now non surgery and see how i am in a couple of weeks. Week 5 now.

    • @topstuff9145
      @topstuff9145 6 років тому

      Jason Gronthos so have you not had a scan at all? Its not necessary. Thanks for the tip on resistance bands

    • @JasonGBASKETBALL22
      @JasonGBASKETBALL22 6 років тому

      No scan at all, I've just been to my doctor twice. The second time he just felt around my Achilles area and said everything was going well and placed the boot on as I was in a cast for the first 3 weeks. This week when I have been doing some range of motion exercises I have began to feel the Achilles region being stiff and noticed my calf pulsating and moving a bit, so that is promising to see the calf being able to move again .My ankle mobility is still pretty bad but it's getting better each day ! What country are you from by the way ?

    • @topstuff9145
      @topstuff9145 6 років тому

      Jason Gronthos I'm in the UK mate. My name is Imran. Yes ROM exercises will slowly start to feel easier. I have a big vacoped boot with a big heel but hopefully they will change to a thinner heel this week so making full weight bearing possible. Right now even putting partial weight when walking makes the heel area sore.

      Jason Gronthos I'm at week 3 and also partial weight bearing.

    • @JasonGBASKETBALL22
      @JasonGBASKETBALL22 6 років тому

      Great job! did you also go with non operative route? I reckon I can put more weight on my foot each day but half the trouble is all in my head! IJust really worried when I feel that pressure on my foot.

    • @topstuff9145
      @topstuff9145 6 років тому

      Jason Gronthos yes non operative route for now. Half the battle is with the head you're right. I do get pain when im partial weight bearing around ankle and tendon

    • @JasonGBASKETBALL22
      @JasonGBASKETBALL22 6 років тому

      Yeah exactly like me mate ! I pushed it a bit far yesterday and my ankle was sore all around. I do get pins and needles a bit on my foot as well when I am pushing too much, and that is my indicator that its time to rest and not push any further.
